Townsville – Solar City

The Townsville: Queensland Solar City project is part of the Australian Government’s leading-edge Solar Cities program.

The project will trial a range of initiatives that aim to reduce wasteful energy usage, increase solar energy usage and cut greenhouse gas emissions by more than 50,000 tonnes.

Itara at Riverway Honeycombes Property Group

Ergon Energy leads the project consortium and is also developing the flagship project initiative – the Magnetic Island Solar Suburb transformation. Delfin Lend Lease, Honeycombes Property Group and Cafalo Ptd Ltd are all looking at solar energy and energy efficiency applications in property developments. The Townsville City Council’s Citisolar community capacity building and education program underpins and strengthens all the project initiatives.
