Participants in the Magnetic Island Solar Suburb project have the opportunity to host Ergon Energy solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.

Ergon Energy hopes to install about 500 solar PV systems on homes, businesses and community buildings across Magnetic Island. 

Once installed, they will generate almost one megawatt of renewable energy.

The first solar PV system was installed in October 2007 on the roof of the Nelly Bay Ferry Terminal.

You can express your interest in hosting a solar PV system during your energy assessment, so make sure you register for your free assessment by visiting the Solar Suburb Info Centre opposite the Nelly Bay Ferry Terminal or contacting Solar City Community Engagement Manager Julie Heath on 0408 862 520.
